Review: Fenty Beauty

I got my hands on some Fenty Beauty products while I was out in Mexico, I was amazed by the amount of products Rihanna hand on offer for a launch of a brand. Honestly, I think I stood in front of the Fenty Beauty stand for about an hour before deciding on which products I was going to buy.

Honestly, I think I stood in front of the Fenty Beauty stand for about an hour before deciding on which products I was going to buy.

I just had to get my hands on her foundation (£26), the colour range was amazing. I was so impressed by the number of dark shades that were on offer, it makes such a Fenty face makeup editdifference to have a WOC create a line because she truly understood the struggle that POC have when buying makeup. To be honest, I was stuck between shades because of the each shade was subtly different but it made such a difference when applicated. I ended up buying the shade 420 but probably could have got away with the shade 410. I was surprised at how wet the foundation was in comparison to my go-to Lancome, I was worried that this would have made the coverage really little. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that it gave a medium coverage, that didn’t look too heavy and is completely buildable. Rihanna claims that her foundation is matte and I am so happy that it pulled through and didn’t look dwey after application, you can get away with not having to put any powder on the foundation if you wanted to.

I bought a Killawatt highlighter but mistakenly picked up the duo of Ginger Binge and Moscow Mule (£26) instead of Trophy Wife, gutting I know. But the duo is just as amazing I was a little apprehensive about using pink highlighters but I find that they work amazing for a blush effect that doesn’t look too harsh against a dark skin tone. A little goes a long way with Rihanna’s highlighters, you really don’t have to work them too hard. I can’t wait to get my hands on Trophy Wife and really can’t wait for Rihanna to extend her colours.

Gloss Bomb edit.jpgLastly, I got her Gloss Bomb (£16) which I thought was going to be the least impressive thing in the range but I was wrong. I LOVE it! At first, I was confused as to why Rihanna would make a pink lipgloss for a line that was targeted towards POC but the lipgloss is very sheer with only a hint of pink. But it’s the perfect shade that looks good on every single skin tone.

I am convinced everything that Rihanna touches turns to gold because this line is what we have all been waiting for and more. I can’t wait to see what Rihanna is going to bring in the future!

Love, Rayann x
